The Contemporary Art Day Auction brought a total of $92,810,775 with Yoshitomo Nara's Baby Blue doubling the high estimate to achieve $2.2 million, establishing a new artist record. Both auctions included works sold to benefit The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles which saw intense competition as multiple collectors fought for pieces donated by artists to benefit the institution, bringing the overall total for MOCA works to $22,507,000, well over the high estimate.

The May 2015 Contemporary Art Day Auction features a strong selection of works spanning from the Postwar period to the present day. The Morning Session includes top quality works by Alexander Calder, Joan Mitchell, Robert Motherwell and John Chamberlain. Highlighting the Afternoon Session are works sold to benefit The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles which includes outstanding examples of Contemporary painting, photography and sculpture by artists such as Barbara Kruger, Rudolf Stingel, John Baldessari and Alex Israel. Standout lots of the Afternoon Session also include works by some of the most interesting, influential and visionary artists of today including Tauba Auerbach, Glenn Ligon and Christopher Wool.
