Dom Pérignon, Rosé 1982 1 bt - Very slightly scuffed label, 1 bt - Scuffed label, 1 bt - Good level and appearance, 1 bt - u. 1cm below foil, good appearance, box slightly defaced, wax seal broken, 1 bt - u. 1cm below foil, excellent appearance, 3 bts - 2 levels at base of foil, 1 just below, excellent appearance, in slightly damaged individual gift boxes, 3 bts - u. 1x1cm below foil, rest just below foil, 1 foil slightly damaged, labels good, packed in individual scratched owc, wax seals mostly missing on owc, from different importersMy husband immediately gained an extension on our 35-year old marriage when he produced this for supper after the opera on Valentine's night 2012. Made by the Chef de Cave of the time, Dominique Foulon, from 60% Chardonnay, 40% grand cru Pinot Noir, partly vinified as a red wine. The colour is dark orange pink, the nose quite meaty and 'animally' - one would have thought it was higher in Pinot Noir. It is so ripe it is almost 'sweet', fruity and full-bodied, demanding food to set off its complexity - we had it with little lamb cutlets, cooked pink.
