Dom Pérignon, Rosé 1982 Lot 6540: 2 labels slightly scuffed otherwise excellent appearance, tissue wrapped, Lot 6541: Labels scuffed, 2 slightly scratched, foil 2 damaged, Lot 6542: Slightly scuffed labels and foil, 1 damaged revelaing top of cork, from different importers, Lot 6543: Scuffed labels and foils, 1 slightly damaged foil revealing top of cork, from different importersMy husband immediately gained an extension on our 35-year old marriage when he produced this for supper after the opera on Valentine's night 2012. Made by the Chef de Cave of the time, Dominique Foulon, from 60% Chardonnay, 40% grand cru Pinot Noir, partly vinified as a red wine. The colour is dark orange pink, the nose quite meaty and 'animally' - one would have thought it was higher in Pinot Noir. It is so ripe it is almost 'sweet', fruity and full-bodied, demanding food to set off its complexity - we had it with little lamb cutlets, cooked pink.
