Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1952 Talence (Pessac-Léognan), Grand Cru Classéu. 1ts, 1t/hs, 2hs, 4 labels slightly soiled, 1 slightly torn and cut at top right corner, 1 torn, worn, damaged and stained, capsules slightly worn, 1 showing sign of corrosion on topIn 2017, at home and our last bottle, with Aberdeen Angus rib eye. An outstanding bouquet, robust, fabulously cigary, rich, deeply spicy and totally La Mission - just a flawless experience. No discernible volatile acidity, mature and yet so forcefully youthful. An incredible glühwein taste, velvety, seamless, creamy textured and with super-rich tannins. No rough edges, just pure liquorice opulence. Intoxicatingly 'sweet' at the end, with a fresh fillip and a savoury umami flavour. Un-put-downable.
