The colours are fairly accurate in the printed catalogue illustration although the overall tonality is less contrasted in the original work. The work is executed on its original canvas and is not relined. Wear marks are located along the edges and in each of the four corners. Imperfections to the surface such as folds are inherent to the artist technique. Several of the black areas present tiny stable uplifts that are visible upon close inspection only. There are stretcher marks along the edges. Under Ultra Violet Light inspection there is no evidence of restoration.
