Condition

Overall, this work appears to be in generally good condition. The work is less yellowish compared to the catalogue illustration. There are two pin-pointed holes along the right edge towards the centre and lower part. There are stable and thin craquelures inherent to the wooden support on the upper left and in a small area towards the lower right of the pigment layer. Under UV light, two tiny retouching by the edge of the bowl are visibile, as well as different inhomogeneous refractions due to the artist's choice of materials.

“Pirandello rallenta la visione e filtra una scabra realtà attraverso un gusto del brutto tutto originale, tormentato e a densi impasti, senza esitare a flettere il suo personale espressionismo alla Pascin in variazioni di scala che allungano e deformano le figure e gli oggetti rappresentati.” Alessandra Borgogelli

"Pirandello slows down the vision and filters a rough reality through a taste for ugliness entirely original, tormented and in dense mixtures, without hesitating to flex his personal expressionism to Pascin in scale variations that stretch and deform the portrayed figures and objects.”
