Condition

The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals some small scattered retouchings to parts of the sky and some intermittent small retouchings to the extreme upper edge. There is a further approximately 3cm-long line of retouching towards the left part of the lower edge, which appears to relate to a historic repaired tear. There are some fine lines of craquelure to some of the thicker pigments and a few tiny paint losses in places. This work is in overall good condition.
