Château Pichon Longueville, Lalande 1998 Pauillac, 2ème Cru ClasséGood levels and appearanceAt 21 years old, still with its deep colour, immensely scented, pure Pauillac cedary nose, full of perfumed promise. Now, a deliciously soft, 'cushiony' taste of ripe, opulent fruit. This shows the greater Merlot content at this epoch which gives the warm liquorice finish. A very plush wine, very 'violetty' and plummy, melt-in-the-mouth pleasure.
