The term 'Khaden' refers to a Tibetan rug typically measuring approximately 150cm by 90cm. For a similar rug see that illustrated, Eberhart Herrmann's publication Seltene Orienteppiche X, Munich, 1988, pp. 248 & 249, no. 118.
Overall measurements (right hand panel woven in opposite direction): 75cm across the top, 77cm across the bottom, 166cm the left hand side, 162cm the right hand side.
Comprised of three vertically joined strips. Pile 4mm overall with minor spot areas of wear to foundation. Some re-piling in the blacks. Small break to join between the middle and outer panel which would benefit from attention and the rug would benefit from a professional clean. Highly decorative and a charming piece.
