The canvas is sound. It been put onto a new stretcher and lined although not laid flat onto the new lining - the original canvas still undulates slightly in places. There is craquelure to some areas of the paint, most significantly in the sea on horizon and by centre of right edge, with some resulting paint losses. Some further small losses elsewhere.
No obvious signs of retouching under ultraviolet light.
