來源

By direct family descent from the sitter until anonymously sold, New York, Sotheby's, 28 January 2010, lot 331 (at which time sold along with Portrait of Henriette Louise Peterson (1796–1845), wife of Auguste, Baron du Bois de Ferrières);
Anonymous sale, London, Christie's, 7 December 2011, lot 178, where acquired by the present owner.

Condition

The canvas is lined, the paint surface is clean and the varnish is clear and even. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals only a handful of very small retouchings each measuring less than 1 cm. long, most notably of which are in the sitter's jewel on her right shoulder, in her collar bone, in the background to the left of her head, and in the lower right corner. The painting is otherwise very well preserved and in very good condition.
