The boards appear sound, and the central board appears to be securely adhered. There is some very faint rubbing to the extreme lower left corner. There is an extremely faint horizontal scuff along the upper edge and four extremely faint diagonal scratches towards the upper left corner, only visible under very close inspection. There are a small number of tiny speckles of rubbing to the black pigment in the shadow in the central feature. There are one or two accretions in places, with instances of detritus and light surface dirt. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. The work is floated in a stained wooden frame.
