Condition

The canvas has been strip-lined along its four framing edges. There is a fine pattern of craquelure throughout. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals some isolated spots of cosmetic retouching in the right and lower framing edges. As also visible in the catalogue illustration, there is an uneven layer of residual varnish which has somewhat discoloured in time and which has affected the appearance of this work. This work would benefit from cleaning and restoration. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate.
