Ruth and Jake Bloom have been collecting works of art for close to 50 years, including almost all of the photographs Robert Frank selected for his classic book, “The Americans.” Christopher Mahoney, Senior Vice President and Head of the Photographs department, met with the Blooms to discuss the personal significance the series holds for them and how these iconic photographs represent “the definitive study of America.” Sotheby's New York will offer Robert Frank: The Americans, The Ruth and Jake Bloom Collection on 17 December.
