Claude Monet's Le Palais Ducal is a masterwork that depicts the splendor of Venice as seen by the artist in 1908. This work hails from the renowned collection of Jacob Goldschmidt, who fought for years to have it returned to his family after it was stolen by the Nazis. The picture was restituted to the family in 1960 and comes to auction at our Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale in New York on 5 May 2015 from Jacob Goldschmidt's late grandson, Anthony Goldschmidt.
