Matthew Collings on David Bowie’s Desire for Raw Emotion

London | November 2016

Art critic and author Matthew Collings first met David Bowie in 1997 when Bowie was the publisher of his book. Struck by the late icon’s artistic passion, Collings reflects on the works comprising Bowie/Collector to be offered at Sotheby’s London on 10–11 November. Ahead of the sale, watch the video to discover how Bowie’s art collection reflects his fascination with those outside society, or as Collings puts it, “the romantic Bohemian.”
