A century after The Macallan 1926 was distilled, Sotheby’s is doing something rather unusual: taking an auction to the distillery itself. From the original site in Scotland to the remarkable architecture of today, the story of The Macallan is written into the landscape, the whisky and the collectors who have spent generations building their collections.

At the heart of the story is the legendary 1926 vintage, distilled in a very different Scotland and matured for six decades in rich sherry oak, alongside rare and iconic releases gathered from collectors around the world. There is also a particularly special addition: an exclusive Sotheby’s version of The Macallan Romantica, created in partnership with the distillery and available only through this auction.
