The Ultimate Drinking Game

Inspired by the Biblical story ‘Wedding at Cana’, this drinking game, or Trinkspiel, creates the illusion of turning water into wine. Discover the elaborate mechanism that would have had Renaissance dinner guests watching in astonishment as their host poured water into the upper reservoir while wine trickled out into the lower cup. Rich in ornaments, technical mastery and scientific curiosity, this silver German ‘Trinkspiel’ by Hans Maulbrunner is a highlight of our upcoming sale Excellence (13 November | Paris).
