A charity auction at Sotheby’s in London has helped raise £195,000 in support of The Queen Sonja Print Award. The award was founded by HM Queen Sonja of Norway in 2011 and is the largest international print award, bestowed biannually to an emerging artist working within printmaking. Sotheby’s Mark Poltimore presided over the auction that included works by Peter Blake and Pablo Picasso alongside collaborative prints created by HM Queen Sonja and Norwegian artist and musician Magne Furuholmen.
