The Best of Louis Vuitton's Artist Collaborations

Launch Slideshow

The iconic monogrammed leather goods of Louis Vuitton, born on this day in 1821, keep his spirit alive. Few companies are as synonymous with great collaboration and as adored for their unique heritage. Much of Vuitton's constant reinvention and excitement can be attributed to its creative director Marc Jacobs, who left the house in 2013. By tapping into his own cultural obsessions, Jacobs’ fearless passion proved that classic French leather goods are made even more fascinating when paired with unexpected imagery like Japanese Anime-style characters and neon graffiti. To celebrate Vuitton’s legacy in both the fashion and art worlds, we searched our archives to create this slideshow of extraordinary Vuitton collaborations and the artistic inspirations behind them. – Stephanie Sporn
