Sotheby´s Belgium in collaboration with the Museum of Ixelles, the Banque Transatlantique Belgium, Circles Group and Aréa Real Estate is delighted to present the exhibition Art of Collecting: a Belgian Perspective. The show will highlight the important influence of a generation of Belgian art collectors and how they inspired the art scene. The exhibition features a selection of artworks from the Oscar Mairlot Collection, which is being sold in Paris on 19 October, ranging from René Magritte to Zao Wou-Ki. Along with the Mairlot Collection will be showcased Belgian donations from the collection of the Museum of Ixelles, and a selection of conceptual, Arte Povera and Zéro group artworks belonging to a prestigious Belgian private collection. The show will be on view at Sotheby´s Brussels and at the Banque Transatlantique Belgium from 6–8 September from 10am to 6pm. Click through to see a selection of the works that will be on display.
