On 1 November in San Francisco, Sotheby’s and Sotheby’s International Realty welcomed guests to a reception and private viewing of highlights from Sotheby’s upcoming auctions of Old Master Paintings in London and New York. Christopher Apostle, Head of Department, Old Master Paintings, and Jennifer Biederbeck, Head of Office, Sotheby’s San Francisco, hosted the event, held in Foreign Cinema, a restaurant-meets-theater-meets-gallery. With its mission to merge cuisine and the arts, the contemporary space was the perfect backdrop for lush fruit and floral still lifes, as well as monumental portraits.
