‘A Scholar’s Relish’, an online sale opening on 10 June, features objects for the scholar’s studio and scholar’s playthings such as bamboo root carvings, soapstone, brush pots and water droppers. Highlights in this sale include a group of bronze incense burners. Many of the objects on offer in this sale were originally purchased in the 1980s at London’s Portobello market, where keen-eyed collectors searched for choice pieces from around the world.
