Claus Meyer’s Art-Inspired Dinner at Sotheby’s

Launch Slideshow

On 13 May, Sotheby’s toasted its May sales of Impressionist, Modern & contemporary art with a private viewing and decadent dinner prepared by culinary entrepreneur and food activist Claus Meyer. Co-founder of Noma, Agern and other award-winning restaurants, Meyer also developed the New Nordic Cuisine Movement, which promotes local, natural and seasonal produce. Surrounded by greenery and thistles evoking the serene landscapes of the Impressionist works on view, guests enjoyed dishes like halibut with melon, radish and pickled pine, decorated with a Basquiat-style crown, as well as a strawberry and chamomile skyr dessert that referenced Lichtenstein’s signature red and white Ben-Day dots.
