Antonio Banderas and Friends Talk Picasso, Genius & More at Sotheby’s

On 20 April, Sotheby’s and National Geographic celebrated the channel’s new series Genius: Picasso, led by Antonio Banderas’s passionate portrayal of artist. In a gallery installed with Picasso works from Sotheby’s upcoming sales, guests dined and listened as Banderas and fellow cast members Samantha Colley (Dora Maar) and Clémence Poésy (Françoise Gilot) talked about playing larger-than-life characters. Also present was Picasso biographer John Richardson, who shared personal recollections of the artist. The conversation, led by author Amanda Foreman, also featured Genius director Ken Biller and Sotheby’s Simon Shaw. Click ahead for images from the event, and browse works by Picasso here.
