On 15 March Sotheby’s and Lora Piana toasted the fantastical imagination of Luis Chan with an evening devoted to his unique artistic vision. In the Lora Piana Library, guests listened as Johnson Chang, Curatorial Director of Hong Kong’s Hanart TZ Gallery, talked about the Panama-born, Hong Kong-raised Chan’s myriad influences — from traditional Chinese landscape painting to the work of Henri Matisse. Befitting Chan’s playful style, guests were offered lei provided by LIST Sotheby’s International Realty, who have a pop-up in the Preferred Lounge during Asia Week, and vividly hued cocktails as they previewed the S|2 exhibition Luis Chan: The World Comes to Him (15–28 March, New York).
