  Held at the L’Opera Garnier, John Galliano’s SS 1998 haute couture collection for Christian Dior was devoted to the eccentric Italian heiress, Marchesa Luisa Casati who’s life mission was to turn herself into a work of art. This extravagant choker necklace (a ready-to-wear version of the haute couture piece) was made as a garland in coated lace and Swarovski crystal to marry the wasp waist high-necked belle époque silhouette Galliano drew inspiration from.
