On October 3rd, Sotheby's is pleased to present the second iteration of Open House – a community engagement concept held at Sotheby's New York to foster excitement among the next generation of art and luxury collectors. The one-day program will draw an unprecedented number of visitors to Sotheby's galleries, creating a new market of bidders and buyers.
Held alongside Sotheby’s Contemporary Curated, Contemporary Discoveries, Modern Discoveries, Prints, and Photographs exhibitions as well as two single-owner auctions - Reflections on Pop: Works from the Collection of Dorothy and Roy Lichtenstein and Haring’s House, and a private selling exhibition from the Estate of John Chamberlain, Open House brings the energy of Sotheby’s marquee sales season to our fall debut, creating a dynamic moment of discovery and engagement across our galleries. Exclusive events will include speaker panels, collecting guides, and in-depth reviews of the current exhibitions on view.

Open House debuted in September 2025, attracting a record-breaking number of visitors and driving a threefold increase in foot traffic. The weekend convened leading voices from across the art and luxury worlds, including Jean Arnault for a discussion on watches; Rachel Carr Goulding, Alma Luxembourg, Josh Baer, and Joel Pettit for a conversation on the evolving role of art advisors; and Sophia Cohen, who led an engaging session on navigating the art market and building a collection. The programming also featured curated wine and whiskey tastings hosted by renowned industry leaders Jhonel Faelnar, Josh Foulquier, and Rodrigo Campos.
The weekend generated exceptional engagement, with capacity audiences across panels and tastings and strong interest from both established clients and next-generation collectors seeking deeper connections to Sotheby's and the broader art and luxury market.
