I n early 2026, to coincide with Paris Haute Couture Week, Sotheby’s is delighted to present The Personal World of Doris Brynner celebrating more than sixty years of creative vision and aesthetic commitment.

Comprising a live auction in Paris on 27 January alongside an online sale from 19–28 January, the collection retraces the journey of Doris Brynner, a leading figure of elegance in the artistic and high-society circles of the 20th century. From her early collaborations with Pierre Cardin and her marriage to Yul Brynner, to her close friendships with Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, and Elizabeth Taylor, Brynner’s life was shaped by beauty and meaningful creative exchange. Jewelry, fashion, works of art, and decorative objects together outline her portrait.

Among the highlights are a Bulgari emerald, sapphire, and diamond brooch that once belonged to Audrey Hepburn, a diamond brooch gifted by Elizabeth Taylor, as well as a group of creations signed by Jean Schlumberger. Fashion also plays a major role, notably an ivory evening gown by Cristóbal Balenciaga, made iconic by photographer Inge Morath, which stands among the emblematic pieces alongside several ensembles by Christian Dior.
