About Sentebale
Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho co-founded Sentebale in 2006 as a response to the needs of children and young people in Lesotho. Meaning ‘forget-me-not’ in the Sesotho language, Sentebale was driven out of a shared love for the country, and in honor of the work of their late mothers. Sentebale symbolizes the organization’s core pledge, to never forget and always advocate for the most vulnerable amongst us.
Sentebale has diligently worked over the last eighteen years in Lesotho and Botswana to implement solutions informed by children, their caregivers and the young people we serve, to address both systemic issues and individual needs of the moment.
Proceeds will support our work, relating to: the care of young people living with HIV/AIDS, addressing mental health issues, career exploration and entrepreneurship, critical life skills and advocacy; and offering vocational training and education opportunities. Most recently we have expanded into the regeneration of landscapes to mitigate the adverse impact of climate change on the natural resources that communities rely on for survival.
