This spring we are delighted to introduce the Season of Blue, celebrating one of the most beloved hues throughout history. Wassily Kandinsky, as one of the founding members of the group of artists known as the Blue Rider, once wrote: ‘The deeper the blue the more it beckons man into the infinite, arousing a longing for purity and the supersensuous’. Voted as the favourite colour of both men and women worldwide, the unequalled popularity of blue has endured for millennia. From Tutankhamun’s lapis lazuli-encrusted mask, to the unmistakable works of Yves Klein, blue has been a constant source of inspiration.

In nature, blue is inextricably associated with the rare and the magnificent, such as the birds of paradise, tropical butterflies, and peacocks. In the world of gemstones this captivating hue carries on its legacy through a myriad of varieties, including sapphires, Paraíba tourmalines, aquamarines, apatites, turquoise, lapis lazuli and many more. One of the newest discoveries on minerals in the 21st century was also a blue variation of a chalcedony, which is now named aquaprase. From gemstones to jewels, there are a variety of shades of blue to be admired in our curation.

這個春季，蘇富比欣然呈獻「春日藍調」，歌頌這個從古至今一直深得世人喜愛的顏色。瓦西里・康丁斯基非常喜歡藍色，甚至與一班志同道合的藝術家成立了「藍騎士」畫派，他曾寫道：「越深邃的藍，越能引領人走進無盡的境界，喚醒觀眾內心對純粹並超越感官的體驗的渴求」。作為全球男女不約而同投票選出的最愛顏色，人類對藍色的熱愛亙古以來歷久不衰。由埃及法老圖坦卡門鑲嶔青金石的面罩，到伊夫・克萊因別樹一幟的作品，藍色一直是藝術家的靈感泉源。

在大自然裡，藍色與珍罕華貴的事物息息相關，譬如天堂鳥、熱帶蝴蝶及孔雀等，都帶有亮麗的藍色。而在寶石世界裡，這種美麗動人的顏色透過各式各樣的型態，如藍寶石、帕拉伊巴碧璽、海水藍寶石、磷灰石、綠松石、青金石及眾多其他藍色寶石，以不同藍調延續大自然的傳奇。其中，21世紀最新發現的礦物之一，就是一種藍色調的玉髓，正式命名為「海水藍綠玉髓」。從寶石到珠寶，這些精挑細選的拍品展現了各色各樣的藍調。

A continuation from the very first NFT jewellery lot that was offered in 2021, which was inspired by Café Terrace at Night painted by Vincent Van Gogh in 1888, this sale will begin with a fresh pair of earrings titled 'Dazzling Autumn'. This jewel is inspired by the Wheat Field with Reaper and Sun, painted by Van Gogh in 1889. Embellished with a gradation of fancy coloured diamonds, the lot will also be accompanied with an NFT including the Certificate of Authenticity from the Kröller-Müller Museum.
