Auction Highlights
Tour the Gallery
This auction features seven works by the masters of Italian Post-war art: Alighiero Boetti, Enrico Castellani, Piero Manzoni, and Fausto Melotti. The group is led by Boetti’s Mappa – an exceptionally large and colourful example from this paradigm shifting series. Six of these works come from a single European collection, having been acquired either directly from the artists or during their lifetimes and held in the same family ever since.
Sotheby’s is delighted to offer a superb selection of works from the collection of one of the most important artists of our time, Anish Kapoor. Offered across the London Contemporary Art Evening and Day auctions and in our private selling exhibition in London alongside the October sales, the collection is a testament to the aesthetic curiosity and conceptual rigor at the heart of Kapoor’s practice.
This auction includes a number of artists featuring in a Sotheby’s London evening sale for the first time: form Avery Singer and Flora Yukhnovich – who are some of the youngest artists to achieve major critical recognition working today; to Etel Adnan and Miriam Cahn – who at 96 and 72 respectively are finally receiving the commercial and institutional attention that their inspiring oeuvres have long deserved.
