Originally launched in 2009, the Cartier Santos 100 Skeleton Palladium reference W2020018 is among the most important modern Santos references and played a key role in establishing Cartier as a manufacturer of sophisticated skeletonized movements, rather than solely a creator of iconic watch designs. While not produced as a limited edition, the reference was manufactured in comparatively small numbers relative to standard Santos models, adding to its appeal among collectors. The watch features a palladium case, an uncommon precious metal choice for Cartier, and is powered by the early hand-wound Calibre 9611 MC. Combining technical innovation with Cartier's distinctive aesthetic, the movement represents an important milestone in the brand's modern approach to skeleton watchmaking.
Condition Report
Very GoodThe watch is in excellent overall condition, has never been wear with some minor signs of wear from storage. The movement is running at the time of cataloging, however, it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.
Please be advised that bands made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) cannot be shipped outside the country of sale. If these watches are purchased outside of Hong Kong, we will replace with calf leather bands prior to shipping.
