Description
The Santos-Dumont is one of the most iconic lines of Cartier. The story goes back in 1904, when Louis Cartier made a wristwatch for Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos Dumont to be able to tell time while flying. The rounded angles of the dial and the seamless curve of the horns as well as the exposed screws made for an iconic watch that would inspire countless reinterpretations later. The present skeletonised example comes in a steel case with black lacquer and bridges covered in black lacquer. What makes the watch special is the addition of the Santos-Dumont micro-rotor, adding a touch of history to the present watch.
