The current piece appears to be unique, and no other waterpot of the same design has been published. Wares decorated with a similar technique are also rare. See a gilt-decorated Qianlong censer, of café-au-lait ground with celadon-glazed reticulated panels, reign mark also inscribed in gilt, sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 29th May 2013, lot 2126.

The theme of archaism, as seen in the chilong dragon, is frequently found in other bronze-imitation porcelains from the Qianlong period. 本品似為存世孤例，迄今未見同紋飾水丞發表。採用相近裝飾技法之器亦極罕見，可參考一件乾隆款仿銅胎掐絲琺瑯（或稱「瓷胎畫琺瑯」）風格之三足爐：其地釉呈淺醬色，開光處施青釉，年款亦以金彩書寫，曾於香港佳士得2013年5月29日，編號2126。

本品飾螭龍紋，此乃乾隆朝仿青銅瓷器常見之仿古主題。可比實例包括：一件灑金仿竹節雙聯瓶，原屬瓊肯三世舊藏，售於紐約蘇富比2019年3月20日，編號522；以及一件灑金螭龍耳仿銅胎茶葉末釉瓶，售於香港蘇富比2015年10月7日，編號3682。
