These two small landscapes, painted on copper, are wholly typical of the artist’s panoramic views. While they do not appear to depict actual scenes, they are clearly inspired by landscapes around Rome.
One of the two copper plaques bears on its reverse the early inscription ‘P. Anes…’, confirming the pair’s attribution to the Roman painter Paolo Anesi.
