2024 MLB All-Star Game

Taking place on July 16, 2024 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, the 2024 MLB All-Star Game brought some of the sport's biggest names to Texas for one of the most entertaining Midsummer Classics in recent memory. Shohei Ohtani, in his first All-Star appearance as a member of the National League following his record-breaking move to the Los Angeles Dodgers, set the tone early with a three-run home run that gave the NL a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Pittsburgh rookie Paul Skenes, pitching in his first All-Star Game after just 11 major league appearances, threw a dominant hitless first inning for the NL, touching 100 mph twice and drawing comparisons to the game's elite young arms.

The American League rallied to tie the game and ultimately pulled ahead on a decisive two-run home run by Boston's Jarren Duran in the fifth inning, off Cincinnati's Hunter Greene. Duran was named the game's MVP, earning the Ted Williams Award in a 5-3 AL victory. Oakland's Mason Miller added a memorable moment of his own, throwing the fastest pitch recorded in All-Star Game history at 103.6 mph.

2023 World Series, Game 1

Game 1 of the 2023 World Series represented a landmark moment for the Texas Rangers franchise, appearing in the Fall Classic for the first time since 2011 and playing host to a championship series that would ultimately deliver the organization its first World Series title in 62 years of history. The Rangers entered as heavy favorites against the Arizona Diamondbacks, both teams having advanced as wild cards through one of the most dramatic postseason runs in recent memory.

Game 1 itself lived up to the occasion. Texas took an early lead, but Arizona battled back to lead 5-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth. With three outs standing between the Diamondbacks and a series-opening victory, Corey Seager stepped in and hit a towering two-run home run to right field, tying the game and sending Globe Life Field into pandemonium. The game remained deadlocked through extra innings until Adolis Garcia, in the bottom of the eleventh, drove a walk-off home run to right field on a 3-1 count to win it for Texas, 6-5. The victory gave Garcia 22 RBIs on the postseason, breaking the all-time record previously held by David Freese.

Additional Games

This plate was also used in two additional games during the 2025 MLB season. On March 27, 2025, the Texas Rangers hosted the Boston Red Sox in a game notable as Kristian Campbell's MLB debut and the occasion of his first career hit. The Red Sox won 5-2, with Wilyer Abreu hitting two home runs and driving in four runs.

The plate was used again on June 19, 2025, when the Texas Rangers hosted the Kansas City Royals. The Royals won 4-1, with Vinnie Pasquantino hitting a home run and Jac Caglianone hitting the first and second home runs of his major league career.
