Directly from the Personal Collection of Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin

AN APOLLO 11 INSPIRED FLIGHT JACKET FROM BUZZ ALDRIN'S COLLECTION, PRODUCED IN COLLABORATION WITH APOLLO 15 ASTRONAUT AL WORDEN.

Apollo 15 Command Module Pilot Al Worden had worn out his flight jacket from use after his mission in 1971. In 2013, to replicate his jacket and to keep "The Right Stuff" in the cultural consciousness, Worden co-founded a company called Still the Right Stuff to produce museum-quality replica garments inspired by the iconic Apollo flight jackets.

The present lot, the Apollo 11 jacket from Still the Right Stuff, is from the collection of Buzz Aldrin: one of the most emblematic of the astronauts with "the Right Stuff." Buzz's flight jacket features the Apollo 11 mission patch as well as the NASA meatball.

Still the Right Stuff no longer crafts these legacy jackets. Beyond coming from Buzz Aldrin himself, this jacket stands as a testament to astronauts' love of the vintage flight jackets that inspired fashion around the world.
