Description
23 ½ x 18 ¾ in. Replica of the 1967 Ludwig bass drum with Ringo Starr’s classic black pearl finish and a recreation of the iconic Beatles Drop-T logo on the drumskin. In excellent condition.
Offered with heavy duty case and letter of authenticity from Phil Harris of Harris Hire, who sourced the drum for the video, as well as accompanying photos and a still from the video.
This drum was used in the 1996 video for “Real Love,” a song based on a John Lennon demo. Lennon’s original demo was recorded in 1979 and 1980. In January 1994, Paul McCartney attended John Lennon's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York. After the induction ceremony, McCartney met with Yoko Ono at the Dakota and she gave him two cassette tapes which included the “Real Love” demo. Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr overdubbed new, additional music and released the song as part of The Beatles Anthology. The drum is featured floating on-screen in the video.
