8vo (6 ⅜ x 6 ¾ in.) World Publishing Company travel bible. Upper cover features portrait of Elvis and his mother, with “In Memory | Mother” embossed in gilt, signed "Elvis Presley" in blue ballpoint on verso. Bible in black leather case with metal cross charm and zippered closure. Elvis Presley debossed at bottom right corner of case cover, presentation inscription to Elvis on inside cover. Very good condition, with cracking along upper hinge.
This Elvis-owned and signed bible was presented to the singer by a fan, who inscribed it to him, “This book will keep you from sin and only sin will keep you from this book. With love, Joy Woodson.” The bible ended up at Graceland and was given to recent owner by Elvis’ aunt, Delta Presley.
