Rocky was directed by John G. Avildsen and written by Sylvester Stallone. Stallone also played the title role of Rocky Balboa. The cast also includes Talia Shire and Burt Young. It was the first of all the Rocky films, and paved the way for a hugely successful franchise. The film won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Film Editing.
Rocky II was written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, who also stars as the titular character. It was the sequel to the 1976 film Rocky, and also stared Carl Weathers, Tony Burton, Burgess Meredith, Burt Young and Talia Shire who all reprised their original roles.
