This film was produced and directed by John Boorman. The cast includes Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox. Four city dwellers take a canoeing trip on the soon to be dammed Cahulawassee River. Their peaceful trip turns dangerous when they come across rapids and hostile locals. "Where does the camping trip end...and the nightmare begin? If you hear a banjo...Start paddling faster. This is the weekend they didn't play golf."
