Where acquired by the present owner.
On account of their shape and size, these panels are likely to have once constituted the wings of a triptych. They would have surely been affixed on either side of another, central panel, which is now lost.
An alternative attribution to Pieter Pourbus (c. 1523–1584) has been proposed.
