Released in 1989 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Patek Philippe, reference 3960 remains one of the manufacture’s most recognisable commemorative wristwatches. Conceived as a tribute to the firm’s early wristwatch production, the model combines an officer-style hinged case with a white porcelain dial, painted Breguet numerals and subsidiary seconds, drawing heavily upon early twentieth-century pocket watch and Calatrava design.

The present example is cased in 18k white gold and retains the restrained proportions and classical detailing that define the reference. Offered with its accessories, the watch represents an important anniversary production from one of the most celebrated periods of modern Patek Philippe.
