Reflecting the character of a cooler vintage, the 2009 Darius II offers rich fruit, elegance and depth. Velvety and seamless on the palate, flavors of blueberry and cocoa unfold alongside exotic spice, anise and violet, while ripe, firm tannins lend structure and dimension, carrying the wine through a long, persistent finish. The artwork featured on the label is inspired by a 17th-century Persian ceramic from Isfahan, where floral and animal motifs were rendered in vibrant color. This glazed panel tile evokes themes of freedom and the sun’s life-giving energy.
