The reference 5905/1A‑001 marked an important milestone for Patek Philippe, becoming the first stainless‑steel iteration of the brand’s Annual Calendar Flyback Chronograph when it officially entered the catalog in the fall of 2021.
The 5905 series was originally introduced in 2015 as the next evolution of Patek Philippe’s popular reference 5960, featuring subtle refinements including a larger 42mm case, up from 40.5mm, and a more streamlined dial layout. While the movement and functionality remain consistent between the two models, the reference 5905 ultimately replaced the 5960 following a brief period of overlapping production in the late 2010s.
The olive‑green dial of the steel 5905 is particularly striking in person, with a tone closely reminiscent, if not identical, to that of the cult‑favorite Nautilus reference 5711/1A‑014. The olive‑dial Nautilus marked the final chapter of the 5711 line and was released just months before the debut of the stainless‑steel 5905.
We are pleased to offer this example complete with all its original accessories, and in overall excellent condition.
