The Patek Philippe reference 5236P represents one of the most technically innovative perpetual calendar wristwatches produced by the manufacture in the modern era. Introduced in 2021, the reference reimagined the traditional perpetual calendar display through an extraordinarily elegant in-line aperture system, positioning the day, date, and month together across a single horizontal display at 12 o’clock (similar to some of Patek Philippe's most elegant pocket watches such as the Ref. 843 and 844). While deceptively minimalist in appearance, the mechanism required the development of an entirely new movement architecture, resulting in one of the most mechanically sophisticated calendar wristwatches in contemporary haute horlogerie.

Housed in a refined 41.3mm platinum case inspired by the famed reference 3448, the watch combines contemporary proportions with the distinctive "Disco Volante" case shape of its grandfather reference. The vertically brushed blue dial, graduating subtly toward black at its periphery, provides exceptional depth while preserving remarkable legibility despite the complexity of the information displayed.

The 5236P-001 demonstrates the manufacture’s continued pursuit of both mechanical advancement while not losing touch with its rich heritage, and today the reference has already established itself as one of the most interesting and collectible modern perpetual calendars produced by Patek Philippe.
