The Patek Philippe reference 5013R was introduced in 1992 as Patek Philippe’s first automatic wristwatch combining a perpetual calendar with a retrograde date and a minute repeater. It remained in production until 2010.
The 5013R represents one of the most desirable iterations of the reference, pairing exceptional rarity with the superior acoustic qualities of rose gold, widely regarded as an ideal metal for minute repeater resonance. As most examples were produced in platinum or yellow gold, rose gold variants are particularly sought after by collectors.
Housed in an elegant tonneau-shaped case, the watch is distinguished by its refined dial architecture, where the retrograde date display adds both dynamism and balance to the overall composition. At its heart lies the calibre R 27 PS QR, the maison’s first automatic minute repeater. Its 22k gold micro-rotor preserves a slim profile while powering a mechanism composed of 515 finely crafted components. As with all Patek Philippe minute repeaters, each example is individually hand tuned, ensuring a unique and exceptional acoustic signature.
A remarkable synthesis of technical mastery and refined aesthetics, the reference stands as a discreet yet powerful expression of Patek Philippe’s grand complication expertise, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a truly exceptional timepiece.
