The legendary black and gold John Player Special livery, popularized by the Lotus F1 team in the 1970s, is experiencing a resurgence with offerings from brands like De Bethune.

In 2022, De Bethune introduced its DB27 Titan Hawk in the classic JPS livery, featuring a black zirconium high-tech case and yellow titanium accents. The sleek, polished, and brushed black zirconium case of the DB27 Titan Hawk JPS measures a slender 9 mm in height. Known for its resilience, lightweight properties, and hypoallergenic nature, black zirconium is a high-tech material.

A signature aspect of De Bethune is the heat treatment of metals to produce new colours. The latest innovation has yielded a striking golden yellow achieved through the oxidation of titanium. This polished yellow grade 5 titanium is used to accentuate various features of the watch, including the inserts in the interior of the openworked lugs that secure the black textured fabric strap.
