In the year 2014, Journe was appointed as the official watchmaker for the celebrations of France and China on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He was more than happy to oblige, and created two special edition watches, with the present being the more sought after of the pair. The fact that Journe rarely, if ever, makes political statements through his watches has only contributed to its desirability.

With the official bright red stamp of the occasion proudly adorning the navy dial, this series is instantly recognisable yet quite understated. Originally only 10 pieces were commissioned, and even though that number was likely slightly inflated through further private requests, this series is never-the-less one of the most scarce editions to ever be made by the brand, both from a numerical and ideological standpoint.
